Our Mission
HHMAX was founded in 2022. HHMAX is dedicated to exploring the science and technology essential for expediting the commercialization of nuclear fusion energy, with the aim of providing humankind with bringing clean, safe, and cost-effective energy.
Our Strategy
HHMAX focuses on field reversal configuration tandem magnetic mirror , as well as the R&D of software and hardware for heating and diagnostic system, with low-cost commercial electricity advantage. Our goal is to supply pivotal components and comprehensive solutions with high cost-effectiveness and high reliability for future commercial nuclear fusion reactors. Meanwhile, HHMAX will develop intermediate products for neutron sources.
Our Team
The core members bring robust academic backgrounds in plasma physics and fusion engineering major at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), which is the most extensive R&D foundations in the fusion field in China, and Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University (THU). HHMAX proudly houses a top-tier team engaged in magnetic confinement controlled nuclear fusion research in China, with first-class R&D capabilities and engineering experience.
HHMAX has established partnerships with Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP), Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) , The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), etc. These institutions have years of invaluable experience in the construction and operation of magnetic mirror, field reversal configuration, and Tokamak, Their profound expertise extends to R&D capabilities and engineering construction experience.
At present, HHMAX has signed a technical cooperation agreement with SWIP and commenced the designing of the reactor.
Our Technology
With the profound accumulation of technology, the support of R&D and the engineering resources from top domestic institutions, HHMAX plans to build the first-generation experimental reactor and discharge it successfully in the early stage. Through R&D efforts, HHMAX will accomplish the products for neutron sources and core system components, and will provide a proper neutron source experimental platform for the first wall material testing and tritium breeding program verification in the fusion industry. In addition, HHMAX plans to apply the first-generation reactor to fields such as nuclear medicine and treatment, nuclear waste treatment, neutron imaging, for realizing commercial value. Within ten years, we will achieve fusion energy output in megawatt level, and we will effectuate power station design and construction.
The goal of HHMAX is to become an international leading nuclear fusion energy commercial company.
