HHMAX | Invited to Attend the Launch Ceremony of Shanghai Angel Club Phase 1

On April 20-21, 2024, under the backdrop of Shanghai’s strategic push to advance its nuclear energy industry and establish a nuclear fusion equipment manufacturing base alongside a nuclear technology application hub, HHMAX was invited to deliver a specialized report on early-stage investment in the nuclear fusion sector and participate in the inaugural launch ceremony of the “Shanghai Angel Club,” organized by the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Finance.

Shanghai Vice Mayor Xie Dong attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, and Liao Li, co-founder of the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Finance, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Shanghai Angel Club. Representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Financial Office, Huangpu District, and the Institute awarded plaques to the club’s strategic partners, including Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd., Shanghai State-Owned Capital Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Daohe Long-Term Investment Management Co., Ltd., Shanghai Equity Exchange, Suzhou Yuanhe Holding Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Huangpu Technology Innovation Group Co., Ltd.

The ceremony also gathered partners of the Angel Club and over 100 prospective Phase I members to delve into the club’s operational model, exchange insights on early-stage sci-tech investment cases, and explore strategies to accelerate the commercialization and growth of technological innovations.

Amid the global transition toward sustainable energy and green development, controlled nuclear fusion—the ultimate form of future energy—is steadily progressing toward commercialization. During the technical roadmap discussion session for the controlled nuclear fusion industry, HHMAX engaged with companies across the fusion value chain, investors, and entrepreneurial institutions to analyze industry trends and technical challenges, offering actionable insights for the sector’s sustainable development.

Subsequently, Xiang Jiang, founder of HHMAX, presented case studies on early-stage investments and industrial incubation within the controlled nuclear fusion sector, sparking in-depth discussions with industry leaders on cutting-edge technologies.

Xiang Jiang emphasized that HHMAX is committed to advancing scientific and technological innovations to accelerate the commercialization of fusion energy, delivering clean, safe, and affordable energy solutions for humanity. As China’s first linear-type controlled nuclear fusion company, HHMAX aims to achieve rapid, low-cost iteration to power the AI-driven computational era.

The company focuses on developing cost-effective commercial fusion technologies, including Field-Reversed Configuration (FRC) devices and their supporting plasma sources and diagnostic hardware/software systems. These efforts aim to provide high-performance, reliable core components and integrated solutions for future commercial fusion reactors. In the near term, HHMAX prioritizes the development of neutron source intermediate products for applications in nuclear medicine, such as Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) and medical isotope production.

In the medium term, the company will advance high-flux fusion neutron source technologies to enable breakthroughs in neutron imaging, nuclear waste treatment, and critical fusion research platforms, including first-wall material testing and tritium breeding validation.

Long-term, HHMAX is dedicated to achieving commercial grid-connected fusion power generation and delivering end-to-end solutions for fusion energy.

Through this event, HHMAX deepened collaboration with partners and members of the Shanghai Angel Club. Partnerships with professional investment institutions and seasoned angel investors will expedite the commercialization of controlled nuclear fusion technologies. On the Shanghai Angel Club platform, HHMAX connected with like-minded peers to explore innovation and application prospects. Moving forward, the company will continue collaborating with stakeholders to pioneer the application of advanced nuclear technologies and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
